Update 092810b

Day 4: Short List Update

I can’t believe the work week is over already! 1. Drupal/Website Design: I hardly worked with the website this week. I mainly stuck with maintenance and security issues so that I could spend more time in C Programming. In the past weeks I had been focusing on Views. I watched videos, took extensive notes, etc., and yet, I could not seem to put the individual elements in a way that worked for the website. Today, I spent the day adding back most my articles from the original website. I am having issues with "a href", but other than that, I am happy they are back on line. I still need to post the FAQ documentation and there is minor editing to do here and there. Remember the refund that I asked for of the Mastering Views series I purchased? The instructor responded quickly and I received it the next day. 2. C Programming: As posted a few days ago, I finally received my new book, C Pointers and Dynamic Memory Management by Michael Daconta. Sadly, It's an old book (1997 copyright), but it seemed to be the best one on the subject. Since I hadn't worked on programming for nearly one month, I've spent the week reviewing material already covered to refresh my memory. I have one chapter left to review and then on to new material. 3. Graphic Design: I can't tell you how many times I go back and forth on "should I add this back in to the work schedule?" I really want to, but I know I don't have the the time to do so. Well, that's not true. I have plenty of time… I just don't have the energy. 4. Facebook Pages: I've started adding quotes to the Pure Joy (Products) page in order to drawn in interest and participation. So far, no comments or contributions have been added. 5. Greeting Cards: Same as 3, something I want to do, but not sure if I can. 6. Potential Business Opportunities with Artists: No contact whatsoever. In truth, I am not surprised, but it is still upsetting. It boggles me that they don't realize that I am running a business and I am waiting for a response. That just seems so inconsiderate to me, especially since I have begun including in my emails that they respond within a timely manner. I will have to wait until the next artist falls into my lap and maybe I will have more luck with him/her. This is actually one reason why I keep thinking I should go back to making my own art, because I can't seem to find anyone interested in me using their art. That seems odd to me, but, oh well. I can't afford to dwell on it. 7. Miscellaneous: I have also been spending time doing "office duties," such as, transcribing my hand written notes onto the computer so they are easier to access. I've also been dictating from another book of quotes since I will have to return those books back to the library soon. Now that I have my articles back on the website, I would very much like to start writing new ones… again, it's a matter of energy. Last thought of the day… I desperately need a business loan so that I can continue to move forward in ways that I can't right now.
